Lola’s opened its truly first northern store in Manchester

MAfter 20 years of baking fresh and delicious cakes in London, Lola’s finally mustered the courage to open a store in the North. So how is it possible to get fresh cupcakes and cakes to Manchester, that are just as fresh as what you’ll find in our London stores.

With this comes some fantastic advantages, as we bring our full range of Lola’s celebration cakes to anyone in the Manchester area. Offering store collection, customers can order up until 4pm on a Monday and collect their cake at 9am on a Wednesday morning. That's what we call a fresh and personalised service. This lead time repeats every day of the week, so for Saturday delivery, ensure orders are placed before 4pm on a Thursday. Everything is baked and decorated to order.

Everyday at 4am a driver departs from London to Birmingham, our new Lola’s Hub. At the Lola’s hub our drivers, do a quick change over of vehicle, and the Manchester driver sets sail for the North of the country. By 8am, cupcakes and cakes that left our bakery some 4 hours ago arrive on the counter, as fresh as if they were headed to any London store.

Whilst click and collect is convenient, we are also delivering to lots of postcodes around Manchester and on the drivers route back to Birmingham. If you are in 1 of these lucky postcodes, you can receive our driver delivery service.

Some customers have questioned why Manchester, and the desire lies in history. Trafford has always been one of the best shopping destinations in the country, and Mario who is involved with Lola’s used to run Millie's cookies and his best shops were in the Trafford centre. So after all this time we decided to make the leap. What held us back was certainly the logistics, but having frequented Birmingham everyday, it wasn’t so much of a leap after all.
